Carmen G. Diaz is a seasoned executive with close to three decades of experience in strategic finance, accounting, consulting and management. She brings a wealth of expertise with particular strengths in areas such as financial reporting systems, investment banking, profit and loss reporting (P&L), financial planning, and long term budgetary oversight. With broad international experience, Carmen has a strong understanding of various markets throughout North America, South America, Caribbean and Europe.
Carmen has extensive experience in a wide range of leadership management roles in the banking, luxury cosmetics, duty-free shops and technology industries. During her first position after college at the New York Federal Reserve Bank, she analyzed the statistics that supported the NY Fed’s decisions. As Finance Director for several companies, she provided the executive team with timely financial statements, ongoing cash flow projections, analysis of accounting and finance operations, as well as designed and maintained the financial reporting structures.
She has taken on leadership roles in financial decision-making that affected the profitability of companies by providing strategic financial input to senior management, including overseeing the overall accounting process and developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of companies.
Her proficiency relative to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 benefits companies in a wide range of industries by evaluating all aspects of their internal control systems and adopting those that are appropriate for each business. She typically assists with the identification of key risks and the design of mitigating controls, documentation of procedures and pre-audit testing to evaluate compliance.
Carmen has the expertise to develop more effective operational strategies for building value and managing operational risk throughout an organization. Her experiences have given her the ability to successfully manage risks and uncertainty. She is able to leverage a suite of tools to identify and drive profitable sources of revenue growth for small and medium sized companies.
Carmen earned an MBA from Simmons University in Boston and a Bachelor of Science in Finance/Business Management from Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus.
