Gary Cuccia is an experienced business professional with expertise in finance developed over many years of work with banks and other firms in capital markets. As CFO he leverages his analytical, finance, and operational leadership skills to drive profitability and revenue growth. By studying the changing organization and the business environment, he discovers new opportunities, trends, issues, and solutions.
Many years of working allow him to take complex situations, break them down into individual components and present and organized deliverable solutions. Partnering with the company or business unit head is the key to delivering the information that management needs to run, manage, and expand the business. Most of his work experience was in Wall Street.
From 1985-1999 when he directed financial reporting for a broker/dealer registered on the NYSE with more than $19 billion in customer assets and then went on to become senior vice-president and controller, Cuccia was deeply involved in developing financial strategy and ensuring execution of finance functions for all businesses, managing a staff of 50. He also administered the 401(k) plan and other benefits. The result of his work was a 15% reduction in finance personnel through introduction of new software and a 40% reduction in P/L closing time.
Later Cuccia spent several years with trading firms and investment banks as a senior executive. His first position as CFO came in 2005 with an e-commerce venture-backed startup. The next was in the wealth management affiliate of a major American bank, acting as CFO and Senior Vice President while handling all finance activities of premier banking, private banking & trust, and broker/dealer divisions.
In 2015 Cuccia arrived in Miami as CFO and COO for the private banking division of an international bank. That involved re-engineering and automating manual processes and developing metrics/reports for executive leadership to manage and expand the business. Before leaving banking to work as a consultant, Cuccia was CFO responsible for finance functions of wealth management, investment advisory, and life insurance companies.
With professional licenses as a CPA from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (license being updated in 2019) and CMA from the Institute of Management Accountants, and years of corporate experience, Cuccia brings expertise in several areas of specialty including financial analysis & reporting, strategic planning, capital raising, investor relations, mergers & acquisitions, project management, and systems integrations.
In addition, Cuccia is licensed as a financial and operations principal for Series 27, 7, and 24. He received the Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University, New York City.
