Miguel has spent his career establishing best practices and improving financial performance in Latin American and U.S. markets. Until the end of 2017 he was Finance and Controlling Director of the Latin America region for Ferring Pharmaceuticals, working first out of Miami and then Mexico City. During 10 years with the company, Miguel led the finance function of the region with affiliates in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile and third-party distribution in more than 15 countries. He provided leadership to six local finance heads and a team of 43 employees.
During this time, he led ERP implementations, implemented regional finance meetings across Latin America to share best practices and align goals for the year, and recovered tax credits (Brazil) and overdue funds (Venezuela) for Ferring.
Miguel began his career with international pharmaceuticals at the Danish multinational Novo Nordisk in Buenos Aires in 1998 as Finance and Administration Manager. He led the finance function at the newly incorporated company and provided leadership in finance and third-party distribution in Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
Success led to promotion in 2003 to Finance and Administration Director in Mexico City, a larger and more complex market. He built the F&A department from the ground up, establishing infrastructure, instituting best practices, hiring talent, and scaling from startup to full operation. The process required implementing SAP ERP modules in Finance, Controlling, Sales and Distribution, and Materials Management.
Miguel is an Argentinian national who completed bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration at the University of Buenos Aires. He participated in the Connect CEO Leadership Summit in Chicago in 2017; the Latin American Compliance Congress in Miami in 2017, and the Latin American and Caribbean Conference at the University of Miami in 2018. He’s a member of the CFO Leadership Council and FENG, the Financial Executives Networking Group, both in South Florida.
